Animation Director / CG Supervisor


Having studied 3d Animation at ICARI, Montreal, Jake began his career in 1995 at London’s Moving Picture Company, originally using Alias Power Animator and later Maya when it arrived on the scene. In 1999/2000 Jake freelanced for The Mill, Double Negative and Framestore. It was at Framestore that Jake subsequently settled for 5 years before returning to MPC in 2006 where he continues to work for the 3D Commercials Department as Creative Director.

Jake is represented as a Director by Light Parade. In 2008 he made his directorial debut with H.Samuel’s Sparklefinder for St Luke’s which was a venture into a stylised fairy-tale character animation piece.

Jake's list of credits includes high profile contemporary work; 'Mousetraps' for Kerry Low-Low, ‘The Good Stuff’ for Foxs Biscuits,  Dom & Nic’s ‘Cityside’ for Dairy Crest and Walter Stern’s ‘Speech Bubbles’ for Vodafone.  Over the past 15 years he has been involved as CG Supervisor for many other notable commercials; Danny Kleinman’s X Box ‘Mosquito’ and Johnnie Walker ‘Tree’ as well as Jonathan Glazer’s Levi’s ‘Odyssey’ and Frank Budgen’s ‘Drink like a Fish’ for Audi.

Some recognition for all the hard work has come in the form of numerous industry awards, most notably; 2 VES Awards for Best Visual Effects in a Commercial, 3 IMAGINA, 4 BTAA Craft, and 2 D&AD Awards among others.
